Khun Sa will soon leave his empire

without comments

Khun Sa’s Army eventully managed to build strong bases along the Thai border, from the Mae Hong Son district to Golden Triangle via Mai Sai district of Chieng Rai, after the KMT was expelled.

The 10,000 of MTA with well military equipment however protect the vast areas surrounding the south and east of the Shan State.

In addition the main KMT’s role is guarding the popyfields while ruthlessly welding a union among the array of Shan Nationalist factions.

Khun Sa’s financial and business-like officers laundering profits through Thai banks and legitimate business.

During era of MTA, the Thais have put abounty on his head.

But Moe Haing is being under pressure of Khun Sa although roles in political wing.

He is not only involved in the military activity but also no connection with his subordinates in frontlines who have been forced to attack the Wa troops and other nationalist groups including Go Gang, Pa long, Shan and Lahu.

Hundreds of More Haing’s soldiers are dead in battle fields during about 9 years of joined armies.

It has been to be doubted that the dead soldiers are secretly shot by theChinese army commanders in battle fields.

Moe Haing has not been reported about the dead soldiers.

He may know later after months-long as he based in Mai Soong headquarters near Chieng Dao border, his original based-camp, while Khun Sa is basing in Ho Mong headquarters oppposite Mae Hong Son border.

Moe Haing meets Khun Sa when the meeting is held in Ho Mong base.

Khun Sa’s plan that to destroy the KMT’s drug trade in Thai Territory

without comments

Khun Sa counter claimed that the KMT’s high-ranking officials refine the Wa’s tonns of raw 0pium into heroin in Thai soil.

“The opium trade has indeed enriched many KMT remnants but the stigma of opium warlord falls not on them, but on unfortunately on me ….I am only a scapegoat,” he said.

To take a revang on the bitter rivals, a large bomb planted by Khun Sa’s men blew up the Chiang Mai residence of Gen.

Lee Wan Huan, the former KMT’s 3rd Army commander, in Much 1986.

Nocasualty but the explosion damaged home seriously.

Besides this, the KMT key members in drug business are murdered by gun shot consecutively in Chieng Mai,Chieng Rai, Mae Sai and Fang.

The Head Quarters of the KMT in Tam Ngop and Nong Uk of Chieng Dao, Mae Salong of Chieng Rai
have to be abandoned (These areas are later developed by the Thai).

But the drug connections of Khun Sa managed by his men in Thailand are able to extend
to Australia, US and South East Asia.

His painful struggle against the aggressors gained alittle attention from the world community.

Situation in The United Forces of TRA and SUA

with one comment

To this day there have been no known battles between the Government and MTA headed by Khun Sa-Moe Haing, leading most sources to beleive that Khun Sa has always had a working agreement with the Burmese Rulers.

The MTA is just to guard the opium business and the Burmese do not consider it as a threat. The KMT force was fought and driven from the Thai border opposite Mae Mae Hong Son and Chieng Dao districts in1985.

After that business connection had to be lost between the MTA and BCP for months. Wa tribe force under the BCP’command is fighting with MTA as months long for control of the heroin rutes and the 20 laboratories lining Shan, Lao and Thai borders.

The KMT leaders and their subordinates members settled down in Fang, Mae Sa Long and Chieng Dao and quited the drugs business.

The soldiers of the TRA, about 800 men equiped well arms, were sent to the north Shan State to battle the Wa as the Wa army has withdrown from the BCP’s political movement and made an agreement of cease-fire with Burmese Government.

The Wa leaders named their force as UWNA United Wa National Army (Called as Regional Defense Force ,not involve with the Political activity aganst the Burmese) and doing the opium and heroin trade while the opium produces hugely in the Wa State.

KHun Sa’s plan is to attack the Wa and to rob their raw opium in Salwin River and important transit point and routes of shipment between Wa State Thai border oposite Fang district where heroin refinery is based and controlled by Way Brothers Haw chinese entrepreneurs.

The TRA soldiers disagree Khun Sa’s order and consider to break away.

(Khun Sa’s dilemmar and crisis that leading him to surrender to Burmese Junta will be continued)

The illusion of Khun Sa’s political role

without comments

He accepted the three conditons of the TRA; Anti the Burmese Government; Anti the Burmese Communist Party; and Anti Narcotics, together with it’s two phased Control and Eradication Program and joined it.

He is currently the Vice Chairman of the TRA, carries the military and financial portfolios.

Now the trafficking stopped.

The move was as dramatic as it was sudden.

TRA’s policy was naturally anti-communist. Now it was explicitly anti-narcotic. Two months later after being the joined forces, the TRA show it’s meant business by ambushing the BCP’s convoy.

The conyoy, enrute through TRA’s controlled territory, carried drugs. Along with 47 kilograms of raw opium and 22 kilograms of haung pi heroin base, the TRA armed troops seized Chinese made weapons and Chinese bank-notes.

The captured red cmmunists guards were part of a 100 men convoy of soldiers. The TRA’s strong base is situated in Maisoong opposite the Thai border village of Pieng Luang, Chieng Dao District.

Various merchants from the Shan State must pay tax here, 26 categories of marchandise on their way through TRA territory are subjected to duty.

Seized drugs have burned down due to anti-narcotics policy.

The 2 forces of the TRA and SUA had been waging war seperately against the Burmese army.

However, tax revenue has dropped as SUA has closed in Khun Sa’s network has encroached on the territory of many factions in the insurgent-ridden state.

Certainly the squeeze is on and the TRA is feeling the pinch.

Economic life-line straddled by the SUA is opening to the interior of the Shan State.

Consequently, Khun Sa has become more than just a troublesome thorn in the side of the TRA.

An economic strangle-hold has, in fect, been placed on it.
